Private Tour to the Papallacta Hot Springs situated between two volcanoes, Cayambe and Antisana, Papallacta’s hydrothermal waters contain many therapeutic ingredients. Established in 1994, Termas de Papallacta Spa & Resort is a popular tourist attraction. located 40 miles (67km east of Quito. The SPA’s hydrotherapy area consists of five hot thermal pools and one cold pool. The Thermoludic Area is the ideal place to experience a variety of different hydromassages using either water jets or air bubbles.
The world-renowned healing properties of the thermal baths are especially beneficial for those aged 65 years and over, but the waters are good for everyone.

The source temperature of the thermal baths varies between 30°C and 70°C (86°F and 158°F). At the pools the temperature ranges from 36°C to 40°C (97°F to 104°F). Papallacta´s thermal waters contain sulfates, sodium, calcium, chloride and traces of magnesium, which are odorless and colorless, but have a slightly salty taste.

We depart from Quito on the road that leads to the Amazon Jungle, a 1.5-hour drive. We take the Cinnamon Route, which the conqueror Francisco de Orellana took in 1542, when he crossed the Andes in search of spices and gold and finally discovered the great Amazon River.
Upon your arrival, you´ll discover a spirit of adventure during a hike through part of the river Loreto – Papallacta, with remnants of primary forest and grassland, where you can find different varieties of orchid species and waterfalls along the route. You can inhale the crisp and clear air that originates in this unique place where the winds of the Amazon Rainforest meet with the rocks and water from the high mountains.
With a short walk to the Interpretation Center “Exploratory” we learn about the fauna and flora of the high mountain rainforest. You will experience the remarkable beneficial effects of the crystal clear hot springs as you immerse yourself in the SPA, hot spring pools of Termas de Papallacta, which are designed as a circuit of 6 pools (5 hot spring water and 1 cold). Each one offers different types of massages (water jets, whirlpool tubs with water and air and bubbles. All this can be enjoyed within the Papallacta hot springs resort. To further complement your visit you can try different types of massages, aromatherapy, body treatments and facials. Then relax in the restaurant and order lunch before returning to Quito.
