Take a private tour and discover the historical sites of Ecuador’s capital city. At 9,350 ft. (2,850 meters) it is the highest official capital city in the world. Quito, along with Kraków, hold the distinction of being declared the world’s first cultural heritage sites by UNESCO in 1978.
We begin north of the city with a tour along the most important commercial areas, where many of the hotels are located. Then we head to the historic center to visit the Church of the Basilica de Voto Nacional, where we will make a brief stop and explain its history. Then on to the Plaza de la Independencia, where we will walk through the pedestrian route to see the Cathedral, the Palace Government, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Church of the Company, recognized for its adornments and gold altars. We then continue to the Church of San Francisco, which was built in the 17th century. Please note that entrance to these churches are not included.
We then head to the Mirador del Panecillo, recognized for its beauty. Here we can enter and admire the beautiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito.
